Why Update your smartphone or PC

Hello, people in this post we will talk about why one should update their smartphone or PC and we will also debunk some update myths. So, let's get started with the update myths and then i will tell you why one should update their smartphone or PC.

Myths -

1. System Updates consume very much mobile data or internet connection

So, some people will say its not a myth but i will say its a false belief among many smartphone users in countries like India, people may spend around 15 GB of data pirating movies and software and what not but they don't even think to spend around 500 MB for system updates. They think that software update doesn't bring any change, because they don't believe in under the hood changes such as bug fixes, patches etc.

2. Software updates delete user's data

This is completely a myth popular among the smartphone users and PC users of India and many other countries that any software update they do will delete their own data such as photos and videos, and hence they never install the software update. But, truly no such thing happens because the system will ask you to save some space even before downloading the update.

3.It takes hours to install an update

This one is 50 % true and 50 % false, it is true for crappy PC users (false for High end PC users) and it is also false for smartphone users, smartphone receive updates less regularly and they are generally bug fixes and security patches, the smartphone updates take maximum 10 minutes to install and not more than that on average.

4.Software Updates are Useless -

Some people think that software updates and system updates are useless as they think only feature updates are useful and not any other update like security patches and bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements. But PC users fear the feature updates and don't install them but they should install the feature updates too as many times security patches and bug fixes are bundled in a feature update by the OS vendor.
