how leaving your phone unlocked saves it from theft ?

Screen lock is the only thing that makes your smartphone irrecoverable from theft . just think,
when your smartphone is protected with screen lock,  the thief will unlock it by flashing new ROM or by factory format through recovery mode. if any of this happens, you have zero chance of recovering your smartphone back.
but If the phone is not locked he starts to use the smartphone without restoring the device,
When your device is not restored, you have very high chance of tracking and recovering your smartphone back. doesn't it sounds good?

another reason for not using screen lock is that if it goes into the hand of a good person. It becomes easy for him to contact anyone from your phone-book and help you to get it back. such cases are very rare but those kind of people still exists on the planet.

Apps that protects the smartphone from theft

now lets see some of the useful apps that helps to protect your smartphone from theft and how they helps in retrieval too.

1. App locker

since we are not going to use screen lock, the way to protect our personal data is by using an App lock. you can lock your gallery, Email app, File manager, social media Apps etc. the App locker you are using must be a reliable one , because some App lockers can be easily disabled by force stopping them in the settings. so you have to find a good one or try to lock the settings too.
there are some type of App lockers which release All Apps at a time. these kind of App lock will be more convenient you use.

2.SIM change notifier

A SIM change notifier App, will send you some information if the SIM card in your phone gets changed.
the SIM change Notifier will gives you details of the smartphone's location, the number of the newly inserted SIM card, and even trigger a alarm remotely.
there are many such Apps available on play store, but you can try Zoner Antivirus which is small and less RAM consuming app.
the Zoner App comes with a reliable Anti theft functionality named as "missing device" which is based on SMS. you will get alerts by SMS and you can remotely control your smartphone by sending SMS from a predefined phone number. apart from Anti theft and Anti virus features, this App serves some other useful functions like sending secret messages too.

3.Android device manager

if you are using an Android smartphone, make sure you have signed into your smartphone with your  Google account. you can easily retrieve your smartphone using the default device manager settings, which allows you to locate, ring, lock and erase your smartphone from a remote location.
to do that you will have to visit this link https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
there you will have to sign in using your google Account and can have a remote control of your Android smartphone.
P.S: don't try lock, erase or ring the smartphone. our primary moto is to track the smartphone's location. so don't ring the smartphone until you get close to the smartphone's location.

4. theft Alarm Apps

you can even install some theft alarm apps, which alerts you when someone tries to steal your smartphone.
these kind of Apps gets triggered when someone tries to pull it out of charger or even moves it.
if you are staying in a hostel, chances of your smartphones getting stolen is high. this often happens when you leave the smartphone while charging, or while sleeping.
in such case  this app will ring with a loud Alarm if the smartphone is moved, or pulled out of charger.
you can set the motion sensing alarm once you go to bed or leave the smartphone un attended for a while.
the best part is that this alarm can not be stopped until you enter a password. so the thief will have no option rather than throwing your smartphone and run away.
so these are the ways to prevent your smartphone from getting stolen or to retrieve it once it stolen, if you are tracking your smartphone thief, be cautious not to alert him. like when you get the new number through the SIM change notifier, don't try to call him directly.

you can look up for his personal details by searching his number on Facebook, true caller etc. or you can even give him a fake promotional calls to get his address, by telling him you won prize or lucky draw, try your own creativity in this matter. once you are getting closer to the thief, try to get some friend's help and never approach the thief by yourself for your safety.
